Nicolas Khabbaz
Ο Nicolas Khabbaz γεννήθηκε στον Λίβανο και μεγάλωσε σε ένα βαθιά καλλιτεχνικό περιβάλλον, με ιδιαίτερο ενδιαφέρον για το Θέατρο. Είναι επικεφαλής του Τμήματος Οπτικοακουστικών Τεχνών του Πανεπιστημίου Notre Dame University (NDU) του Λιβάνου από το 2012. Μεταξύ 2005 και 2016 ανέλαβε την παραγωγή δώδεκα θεατρικών έργων, σε σενάριο και σκηνοθεσία του Georges Khabbaz, με τον οποίο συνίδρυσε την εταιρεία παραγωγής Khabbaz Production. Ως καλλιτεχνικός διευθυντής, διευθυντής προγράμματος και συνιδρυτής του Διεθνούς Φεστιβάλ Κινηματογράφου NDU, έλαβε μέρος σε πολλά διεθνή φεστιβάλ ως σκηνοθέτης-συμμετέχων στο επίσημο διαγωνιστικό, ως μέλος κριτικής επιτροπής και ως προσκεκλημένος ομιλητής. Τα σεμινάριά του με θέμα τον Κινηματογράφο αγγίζουν θέματα όπως η δημιουργία του κινήματος “Third Cinema”, η ίση εκπροσώπηση των φύλων και η πολιτισμική ταυτότητα. Ανέλαβε επίσης την παραγωγή και τη συγγραφή του σεναρίου της πρώτης του ταινίας μεγάλου μήκους με τίτλο Waynon (Void) το 2013, καθώς και την υλοποίηση της παραγωγής της ταινίας Ghadi. Οι δύο αυτές ταινίες μεγάλου μήκους συμμετείχαν σε αξιόλογα φεστιβάλ κινηματογράφου και απέσπασαν σημαντικά βραβεία. Επιπρόσθετα, ανέλαβε την παραγωγή αρκετών βραβευμένων ταινιών μικρού μήκους. Ο Nicolas Khabbaz είναι κάτοχος διδακτορικού (PhD) στον Κινηματογράφο, με αντικείμενο μελέτης την εξέλιξη του κινηματογράφου στη χώρα του και την κινηματογραφική και πολιτισμική ταυτότητα του Λιβάνου.
Born in Lebanon and raised in a family where art is a daily practice, Theater runs in the blood of every member in the family. Director Division of Audio Visual Arts at Notre Dame University - Lebanon (NDU) since 2012. He has produced 14 theater plays between 2005 and 2017 written and directed by Georges Khabbaz with Whom he co-founded “Khabbaz Production”. Program & Artistic director and founder of NDU International Film Festival and Batroun Mediterranean Film Festival, Nicolas Khabbaz has participated in several international festivals around the world as an officially selected filmmaker, a jury member and a guest lecturer (his seminars about cinema tackled issues like (Third Cinema, Gender Representation, Cultural Identity and Spatial Memory). Produced and co-wrote his first feature “Waynon” (Void) in 2013 and worked on “Ghadi” as project developer (the two feature films participated in prestigious film festivals and received a number of major awards) in addition, he has produced several award winning short films. His last film “On the Ropes” (2016) directed by Manon Nammour was premiered in the official competition of Locarno Film Festival. “BARAKAT” is Nicolas’ new short film that will be released in 2019. Nicolas Khabbaz holds a PHD in Cinema, he studied the cinema of his own country and the question of its identity in “Lebanese Film and Cultural Identity”.
Άδωνις Φλωρίδης | Adonis Florides
Σκηνοθέτης στον κινηματογράφο και το θέατρο, θεατρικός συγγραφέας και σεναριογράφος. Ζει και εργάζεται στη Λεμεσό. Η ταινία του «Rosemarie» (2018) τιμήθηκε με το Βραβείο Καλύτερης Ταινίας στο 15ο Διεθνές Φεστιβάλ Κινηματογραφικές Μέρες Κύπρος 2017 (Διεθνές Διαγωνιστικό Τμήμα), το Βραβείο Καλύτερης Ταινίας της Πανελλήνιας Ένωσης Κριτικών Κινηματογράφου (ΠΕΚΚ) στο 58ο Φεστιβάλ Κινηματογράφου Θεσσαλονίκης (2017), Βραβείο Van Gogh Καλύτερης Σκηνοθεσίας στο Φεστιβάλ Κινηματογράφου του Άμστερνταμ (2018). Έχει γράψει το σενάριο και συν-σκηνοθέτησε τις ταινίες «Kalabush» και «Εspresso» οι οποίες έχουν προβληθεί σε πολλές χώρες του κόσμου και έχουν βραβευθεί και τύχει διαφόρων διακρίσεων σε διεθνή φεστιβάλ. Στο θέατρο έχει σκηνοθετήσει δικά του έργα, αλλά και έργα από το κυπριακό, ελληνικό και διεθνές ρεπερτόριο για τον Θ.Ο.Κ., την ΕΘΑΛ, το Θέατρο Versus κ.α. Έχει εργαστεί στην τηλεόραση ως σκηνοθέτης, συγγραφέας τηλεοπτικών σειρών και παραγωγός, είναι μέλος του δ.σ. του ΡΙΑΛΤΟ και διδάσκει κινηματογραφικό σενάριο και κινηματογράφο στο Εργαστήρι Κινηματογραφικού Σεναρίου που ίδρυσε ο ίδιος.
Adonis Florides is a film and theatre director, screenplay writer and playwright. He lives and works in Limassol, Cyprus. His latest film Rosemarie (2017) was awarded with the “Best Film Award” at the International Competition section of the “Cyprus Film Days 2017” International Film Festival, the Best Film Award by the Greek Film Critics Association at 58th Thessaloniki Film Festival (2017), Van Gogh Award for Best Director at the Amsterdam Film Festival (2018) . He has written and co-directed the feature film Kalabush (2004) and the short Espresso (1998). He has directed for the stage three of his own plays as well as a number of other plays from the Greek and International repertoire. He has worked as a TV director, writer and producer and currently teaches screenplay at the Screenplay Workshop. He is currently a member of the board of directors of the Limassol based RIALTO theatre.
Δώρος Δημητρίου | Doros Demetriou
Ο Δώρος Δημητρίου είναι ιστορικός κινηματογράφου, διοργανωτής και επιμελητής κινηματογραφικών και άλλων πολιτιστικών εκδηλώσεων . Είναι μέλος του Διοικητικού Συμβουλίου της CIFEJ, μέλος της ECFA, και ένας από τους καλλιτεχνικούς διευθυντές του φεστιβάλ "Εικόνες και Όψεις του Εναλλακτικού Κινηματογράφου" που πραγματοποιείται κάθε χρόνο στη Λευκωσία. Είναι επίσης αριστίνδην μέλος της ΣΕΚΙΝ (Συμβουλευτική Επιτροπή Κινηματογράφου Κύπρου), αντιπρόεδρος και επιμελητής εκδηλώσεων του Φωτογραφικού Σωματείου «Φωτοδός» και επιμελητής κινηματογραφικών εκδηλώσεων στο Πολιτιστικό Εργαστήρι Αγίων Ομολογητών. Συνεργάζεται με τις Πολιτιστικές Υπηρεσίες του Υπουργείου Παιδείας της Κύπρου, κυρίως σε θέματα Κινηματογραφικής Παιδείας, κάτω από τον γενικό τίτλο «Η δύναμη και η μαγεία του κινηματογράφου». Είναι σύμβουλος και μέλος της κριτικής επιτροπής του Φεστιβάλ British Columbia Environmental Film Festival (BCEFF) στο Βανκούβερ του Καναδά, και Καλλιτεχνικός Σύμβουλος στο Φεστιβάλ Αρχαιολογικού, Εθνογραφικού και Ιστορικού Ντοκιμαντέρ (AEI Festival) στη Λευκωσία. Παρουσιάζει διαλέξεις για την Ιστορία του Κινηματογράφου σε πολιτιστικούς οργανισμούς και σχολεία ανά την Κύπρο, ενώ διατηρεί μαζί με τον Φοίβο Δεληβοριά την διαδικτυακή ιστοσελίδα «Σινεκείμενα», με κείμενα για τον κινηματογράφο. Έχει σπουδάσει στο Λονδίνο Electronic Engineering (BEng - Queen Mary University) και Visual Theories/Cinema (MA - University of East London).
Doros Demetriou was born in Nicosia in 1970. He is a cinema historian, events’ organizer, and curator of film screenings. He is a member of ECFA and elected Member of the Director’s Board of CIFEJ, and a member of the Cinema Advisory Committee of Cyprus (SEKIN/ΣΕΚΙΝ – Συμβουλευτική Επιτροπή Κινηματογράφου). He is the manager and curator of film screenings, events and film education programs at the Cultural Workshop Agion Omologiton, Nicosia, and one of the artistic directors of the "Images and Views of Alternative Cinema" (IVAC) festival. He is also the vice-president and curator of events at the “Fotodos” Photography Club. He is a collaborator of the Cultural Services of the Ministry of Education and Culture of Cyprus on various Film Education programs, under the title “The power and magic of cinema”. He is a member of the Board of Advisors and jury member at the British Columbia Environmental Film Festival (BCEFF), in Vancouver, Canada. He is the Artistic Advisor, Director of International Development and Manager of Youth Programs at the Archeological, Ethnographic and Historical (AEI) Film Festival in Nicosia, Cyprus. Doros presents lectures on the History of Cinema at various cultural organizations and schools in Cyprus and abroad. He also has studied Cinematherapy at The National and Kapodistrian University of Athens and he is also a radio producer at OldTownRadio web radio station. He is the co-founder of the CineTexts webpage with the Greek recording artist Foivos Delivorias. He has studied in London and holds degrees in Electronic Engineering (BEng - Queen Mary University) and Visual Theories/Cinema (MA - University of East London).
