Άδωνις Φλωρίδης | Adonis Florides
Ο Άδωνις Φλωρίδης είναι σκηνοθέτης κινηματογράφου και θεάτρου, θεατρικός συγγραφέας και σεναριογράφος που ζει και εργάζεται στη Λεμεσό. Έχει γράψει και σκηνοθετήσει τρεις ταινίες μεγάλου μήκους —με την τέταρτη σε στάδιο μεταπαραγωγής— και μία μικρού μήκους, όλες με διεθνή φεστιβαλική πορεία και διακρίσεις.
Η πρόσφατη ταινία του, Africa Star (2024), απέσπασε βραβεία μεταξύ άλλων στα Φεστιβάλ Ελληνικού Κινηματογράφου του Λος Άντζελες, στο Πανόραμα Ευρωπαϊκού Κινηματογράφου (Αθήνα), στο Φεστιβάλ Κυπριακού και Ελληνικού Κινηματογράφου Βαρκελώνης, καθώς και στο Διεθνές Φεστιβάλ Κινηματογραφικές Μέρες Κύπρος 2024.
Η ταινία του Rosemarie (2017) έκανε παγκόσμια πρεμιέρα στο Φεστιβάλ Κινηματογραφικές Μέρες Κύπρος και τιμήθηκε, μεταξύ άλλων, με το Βραβείο Καλύτερης Ταινίας της Πανελλήνιας Ένωσης Κριτικών Κινηματογράφου (ΠΕΚΚ) στο 58ο Φεστιβάλ Κινηματογράφου Θεσσαλονίκης, με το Βραβείο Καλύτερης Ταινίας στο 15ο Διεθνές Φεστιβάλ Κινηματογραφικές Μέρες Κύπρος (Διεθνές Διαγωνιστικό Τμήμα), καθώς και με το Βραβείο Van Gogh Καλύτερης Σκηνοθεσίας στο Φεστιβάλ του Άμστερνταμ (2018).
Έχει συν-σκηνοθετήσει και συν-γράψει τις ταινίες Kalabush και Espresso, οι οποίες προβλήθηκαν διεθνώς και απέσπασαν βραβεία.
Στο θέατρο, έχει σκηνοθετήσει έργα δικά του αλλά και άλλων δημιουργών από το κυπριακό, ελληνικό και διεθνές ρεπερτόριο για οργανισμούς όπως ο ΘΟΚ, η ΕΘΑΛ, το Θέατρο Versus, η Υπόγεια Σκηνή/Πολυχώρος Συνεργείο κ.ά. Τρία από τα θεατρικά του έργα έχουν ενταχθεί στον κατάλογο του European Theatre Convention με τα καλύτερα σύγχρονα έργα της Ευρώπης.
Παράλληλα, έχει σκηνοθετήσει ντοκιμαντέρ, τηλεοπτικές σειρές και εκπομπές, επετειακές εκδηλώσεις, ενώ έχει πειραματιστεί με το βίντεο στο πλαίσιο του προγράμματος «Ιδεοδρόμιο» της πολιτιστικής πλατφόρμας ΝΕΜΕ.
Υπήρξε ιδρυτικό μέλος και πρόεδρος της Ένωσης Σκηνοθετών Κύπρου, αντιπρόεδρος της ΝΕΜΕ και συνιδρυτής της πρώτης διαδικτυακής δικοινοτικής πλατφόρμας Cyprus-peace.org. Έχει επίσης εργαστεί στην τηλεόραση ως σκηνοθέτης, σεναριογράφος και παραγωγός. Είναι μέλος του Δ.Σ. του Θεάτρου ΡΙΑΛΤΟ και διδάσκει κινηματογραφικό σενάριο και σκηνοθεσία στο Εργαστήρι Κινηματογραφικού Σεναρίου που ίδρυσε ο ίδιος.
Adonis Florides is a film and theatre director, playwright, and screenwriter living and working in Limassol. He has written and directed three feature films — with a fourth currently in post-production — and one short film, all of which have had international festival runs and received awards.
His most recent film, Africa Star (2024), received awards at, among others, the Los Angeles Greek Film Festival, the Panorama of European Cinema (Athens), the Barcelona Greek and Cypriot Film Festival, and the Cyprus Film Days International Festival 2024.
His film Rosemarie (2017) had its world premiere at the Cyprus Film Days Festival and was awarded, among others, the Best Film Award by the Panhellenic Union of Film Critics (PEKK) at the 58th Thessaloniki International Film Festival, the Best Film Award at the 15th Cyprus Film Days International Festival (International Competition Section), and the Van Gogh Award for Best Direction at the Amsterdam Film Festival (2018).
He co-directed and co-wrote the films Kalabush and Espresso, which have been screened internationally and won awards.
In theatre, he has directed both his own plays and works by other creators from the Cypriot, Greek, and international repertoires for organisations such as THOC (Cyprus Theatre Organisation), ETHAL, Versus Theatre, Ypogeia Skini/Politropos Synergeio and others. Three of his plays have been included in the European Theatre Convention’s list of Europe’s best contemporary plays.
At the same time, he has directed documentaries, television series and programmes, commemorative events, and has experimented with video art within the “Ideodromio” programme of the cultural platform NEME.
He has been a founding member and president of the Cyprus Directors’ Guild, vice-president of NEME, and co-founder of Cyprus-peace.org, the first online bicommunal platform. He has also worked in television as a director, screenwriter, and producer. He is a board member of RIALTO Theatre and teaches film screenwriting and directing at the Screenwriting Workshop he founded.
Δώρος Δημητρίου | Doros Demetriou
Ο Δώρος Δημητρίου είναι ιστορικός κινηματογράφου, διοργανωτής και επιμελητής κινηματογραφικών και άλλων πολιτιστικών εκδηλώσεων . Είναι μέλος του Διοικητικού Συμβουλίου της CIFEJ, μέλος της ECFA, και ένας από τους καλλιτεχνικούς διευθυντές του φεστιβάλ «Εικόνες και Όψεις του Εναλλακτικού Κινηματογράφου» που πραγματοποιείται κάθε χρόνο στη Λευκωσία. Είναι αντιπρόεδρος και επιμελητής εκδηλώσεων του Φωτογραφικού Σωματείου «Φωτοδός» και υπεύθυνος κινηματογραφικών δράσεων στο Πολιτιστικό Εργαστήρι Αγίων Ομολογητών. Συνεργάζεται με το Τμήμα Σύγχρονου Πολιτισμού του Υφυπουργείου Πολιτισμού της Κύπρου, κυρίως σε θέματα Κινηματογραφικής Παιδείας, κάτω από τον γενικό τίτλο «Η δύναμη και η μαγεία του κινηματογράφου». Ήταν Οργανωτικός Διευθυντής του Διεθνούς Φεστιβάλ «Κινηματογραφικές Μέρες Κύπρος 2025», ενώ διετέλεσε από το 2019 μέχρι το 2025 αριστίνδην μέλος της ΣΕΚΙΝ (Συμβουλευτική Επιτροπή Κινηματογράφου Κύπρου). Είναι σύμβουλος στο British Columbia Environmental Film Festival (BCEFF) στο Βανκούβερ του Καναδά, και Καλλιτεχνικός Σύμβουλος στο Φεστιβάλ Αρχαιολογικού, Εθνογραφικού και Ιστορικού Ντοκιμαντέρ (AEI Festival) στη Λευκωσία. Παρουσιάζει διαλέξεις για την Ιστορία του Κινηματογράφου σε πολιτιστικούς οργανισμούς και σχολεία ανά την Κύπρο, ενώ διατηρεί μαζί με τον Φοίβο Δεληβοριά την διαδικτυακή ιστοσελίδα «Σινεκείμενα», με κείμενα για τον κινηματογράφο. Από το 2025 είναι Media Coordinator στην Biennale Λάρνακας.
Doros Demetriou was born in Nicosia in 1970. He is a cinema historian, events’ organizer, and curator of film screenings. He is a member of ECFA and elected Member of the Director’s Board of CIFEJ, and a member of the Cinema Advisory Committee of Cyprus (SEKIN/ΣΕΚΙΝ – Συμβουλευτική Επιτροπή Κινηματογράφου). He is the manager and curator of film screenings, events and film education programs at the Cultural Workshop Agion Omologiton, Nicosia, and one of the artistic directors of the "Images and Views of Alternative Cinema" (IVAC) festival. He is also the vice-president and curator of events at the “Fotodos” Photography Club. He is a collaborator of the Cultural Services of the Ministry of Education and Culture of Cyprus on various Film Education programs, under the title “The power and magic of cinema”. He is a member of the Board of Advisors and jury member at the British Columbia Environmental Film Festival (BCEFF), in Vancouver, Canada. He is the Artistic Advisor, Director of International Development and Manager of Youth Programs at the Archeological, Ethnographic and Historical (AEI) Film Festival in Nicosia, Cyprus. Doros presents lectures on the History of Cinema at various cultural organizations and schools in Cyprus and abroad. He also has studied Cinematherapy at The National and Kapodistrian University of Athens and he is also a radio producer at OldTownRadio web radio station. He is the co-founder of the CineTexts webpage with the Greek recording artist Foivos Delivorias. He has studied in London and holds degrees in Electronic Engineering (BEng - Queen Mary University) and Visual Theories/Cinema (MA - University of East London).
Γιάννα Αμερικάνου | Yianna Americanou
Η Γιάννα Αμερικάνου είναι σκηνοθέτρια και σεναριογράφος. Οι μικρού μήκους ταινίες της έχουν προβληθεί και βραβευτεί σε διεθνή φεστιβάλ όπως το Ρότερνταμ, το Όμπερχαουζεν, το Αμβούργο και η Δράμα. Η πρώτη της μεγάλου μήκους ταινία «.dog» κυκλοφορεί διεθνώς μέσω της URBAN INTERNATIONAL και είναι διαθέσιμη σε πλατφόρμες όπως HBO Max, ARTE και MUBI. Τιμήθηκε με τα βραβεία Καλύτερης Κυπριακής Ταινίας και Σκηνοθεσίας στο Cyprus Film Days 2022 και Βραβείο Ίρις της Ελληνικής Ακαδημίας Κινηματογράφου. Αυτή την περίοδο αναπτύσσει τη δεύτερη μεγάλου μήκους ταινία της «Μy Name is Lily», με συμμετοχές στο MIDPOINT και το Karlovy Vary IFF, και χρηματοδοτήσεις από SEE Cinema Network, Creative Europe και την Κυπριακή Επιτροπή Κινηματογράφου. Το πρότζεκτ απέσπασε το Pitching Award του DOT.ON.THE.MAP 2025. Ανάπτυξη έχει επίσης εξασφαλίσει η μίνι τηλεοπτική σειρά της «ReCLAIM» από το Ελληνικό Κέντρο Κινηματογράφου. Είναι ενεργό μέλος της Ένωσης Σκηνοθετών Κύπρου και έχει συμμετάσχει στη διεθνή κριτική επιτροπή του Cyprus Film Days.
Yianna Americanou is a director and screenwriter. Her short films have been screened and awarded at international festivals such as Rotterdam, Oberhausen, Hamburg, and Drama. Her debut feature film, “.dog”, is distributed internationally by URBAN INTERNATIONAL and is available on platforms including HBO Max, ARTE, and MUBI. It received the Best Cypriot Film and Best Director awards at Cyprus Film Days 2022, as well as an Iris Award from the Hellenic Film Academy. She is currently developing her second feature film, “My Name is Lily,” which has participated in MIDPOINT and the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival, and has received funding from SEE Cinema Network, Creative Europe, and the Cyprus Film Commission. The project was awarded the Pitching Award at DOT.ON.THE.MAP 2025. Her TV mini-series project “ReCLAIM” has also secured development support from the Greek Film Centre. She is an active member of the Cyprus Directors Guild and has served on the international jury of Cyprus Film Days.
Peter Cerovšek
Ο Peter Cerovšek είναι σκηνοθέτης και επιμελητής που δραστηριοποιείται σε διάφορους ρόλους στον χώρο του κινηματογράφου και της σύγχρονης τέχνης. Είναι διευθυντής του FeKK – Φεστιβάλ Ταινιών Μικρού Μήκους της Λιουμπλιάνα και του Κέντρου Σύγχρονης Τέχνης SCCA-Λιουμπλιάνα, όπου διευθύνει επίσης το αρχείο DIVA Station για βίντεο, ταινία και τέχνη νέων μέσων. Ως επιμελητής, προγραμματίζει έργα βίντεο και κινούμενης εικόνας για πολλές πλατφόρμες. Είναι ιδρυτής και επικεφαλής του V-F-X Ljubljana, του πρώτου φεστιβάλ στη Σλοβενία αφιερωμένου στον πειραματικό κινηματογράφο και τις οπτικοακουστικές πρακτικές, το οποίο ξεκίνησε σε συνεργασία με την Κινηματοθήκη της Σλοβενίας. Ο Cerovšek επιμελείται επίσης το τμήμα ταινιών μικρού μήκους του Διεθνούς Φεστιβάλ Κινηματογράφου της Λιουμπλιάνα (LIFFe). Peter Cerovšek is a filmmaker and curator active in various roles across the film and contemporary art landscape. He is the director of FeKK – Ljubljana Short Film Festival and the Center for Contemporary Arts SCCA- Ljubljana, where he also heads the DIVA Station Archive for video, film, and new media art. As a curator, he programs video and moving image works for numerous platforms. He is the founder and head of V-F-X Ljubljana, Slovenia’s first festival dedicated to experimental film and audiovisual practices, launched in collaboration with the Slovenian Cinematheque. Cerovšek also curates the short film section of the Ljubljana International Film Festival (LIFFe). He is the founder, mentor, and producer of the scriptwriting workshop Short Scene, and serves as Slovenia’s representative for the Euroconnection Short Pitch at the Clermont-Ferrand Film Festival. As a director, his short films have received international acclaim. He is a member of the Directors Guild of Slovenia and an alumnus of Berlinale Talents.
